If you decide that you don’t wish to process transactions contained in a bank statement in Money’s que, bring up the Account List screen and right-click on Transactions to read for the respective statement that you wish to delete, and then select the Delete Statement menu option, as shown above.

Fix via the registry

aha4aiconNote: If queued-up statement(s) for a non-associated Money file are awaiting, select Import Later, and fix via the registry.  Likewise, if queued-up statement(s) are causing Money to crash, preventing you from using the method shown above, fix via the registry.

So what is this fix via the registry you ask?  You can either try Cal Learner’s registry fix, to empty out any statements waiting to be read into Microsoft Money:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Money\17.0]
"Import Files"=-

or you can also Run Regedit, and carefully remove manually:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Money\17.0\Import Files

Similarly, if you no longer wish a Money file to be listed in the File (open) tab, carefully edit manually the list of (up to) 4 files:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Money\17.0\

MruFile0 ...
MruFile1 ...
MruFile2 ...
MruFile3

  1. Upon clicking the link I am getting this error.

“File not found. It has been either deleted, or it never existed at all. ”
can somebody just post the contents of this file.

  2. The page and file used to exist…

Anyways, I found delofxi.reg which I believe to be the file Cal created, and added it to the article.

  3. For those following my blog, I’ve updated those articles that include Registry edits, since “Regedit4” is no longer applicable with newer versions of Windows, and the first line needs to be replaced with “Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00”.

This article in particular now also includes the method for deleting an ofx statement directly from within Money, that Glyn Simpson had discovered many years ago.

  4. Hello everyone – I wrote an application a while ago to convert the Excel trades (initially for Questrade – Account Activities) to OFX format. This allows me to import the trade activities like like dividends, buys/sells and also supports ticker mapping rules etc. in MS Money.

I can also update stock prices using another program.

    Reach out if you’re interested.

    Cheers,
